If you’re in wealth management, you know Brian Hamburger.
Hamburger has advised hundreds of successful RIA practices and regularly ranks among the industry’s most influential voices on practice management, M&A and advisor compliance. He also is a savvy social entrepreneur, heading up one of the most popular industry conferences, MarketCounsel.
Despite a full plate of work and social duties, Hamburger took time to share with Action! a few lessons about staying organized and building a team.
An interview excerpt:
“The best team members I've ever worked with give me all the reasons to have trust and confidence in their work. It's not just trusting that they're not doing something. On the contrary, trust that they're going to be where you need them when you need them to be there. And not necessarily that they will look at things through the same lens and make the same decision as you. In fact, I enjoy being around people who take a different approach than me. But the fact that we see things the same way helps me have confidence that whatever decision they arrive at is the decision that I could logically connect to as well.”
